Biography

Susan W. Saidel is the founder and principal attorney at Saidel Law, LLC, a firm dedicated to representing veterans and other people with disabilities. Previously the legal director for a non-profit organization and staff attorney/interim director with the Veterans Law Clinic at Widener University Delaware Law School, she has focused on disability advocacy for over fifteen years. She brings experience, skill and compassion to helping families through the many legal issues that veterans and individuals with disabilities often face.

Sue is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She has been an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs since 2007 and is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. She has long been a source to help train other attorneys in the areas of Medicaid and veterans law. She co-authored “Legal Challenges and Resources for Children with Special Needs” for the New Jersey Lawyer and was a guest on WHYY’s Radio Times discussing veteran related issues. She has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences about and for people with disabilities, including the Arc of New Jersey’s Conference for Medical Care for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Originally from New Jersey, Sue earned a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School, where she is currently an adjunct professor. In her spare time, she loves to hike, bike and kayak, and can be found volunteering at an after-school program for children in Philadelphia, and at Camp Daydreams, a camp in the Finger Lake region serving urban youth from Rochester, NY.
