Susan W. Saidel is the founder and principal attorney at
Saidel Law, LLC, a firm dedicated to representing veterans and other people
with disabilities. Previously the legal director for a non-profit organization
and staff attorney/interim director with the Veterans Law Clinic at Widener
University Delaware Law School, she has focused on disability advocacy for over
fifteen years. She brings experience, skill and compassion to helping families
through the many legal issues that veterans and individuals with disabilities
often face.
Sue is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and
Pennsylvania. She has been an accredited attorney with the Department of
Veterans Affairs since 2007 and is admitted to practice before the Court of
Appeals for Veterans Claims. She has long been a source to help train other
attorneys in the areas of Medicaid and veterans law. She co-authored “Legal
Challenges and Resources for Children with Special Needs” for the New Jersey
Lawyer and was a guest on WHYY’s Radio Times discussing veteran related issues.
She has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences about and for people
with disabilities, including the Arc of New Jersey’s Conference for Medical
Care for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Originally from New Jersey, Sue earned a B.A. from the
Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law
School, where she is currently an adjunct professor. In her spare time, she
loves to hike, bike and kayak, and can be found volunteering at an after-school
program for children in Philadelphia, and at Camp Daydreams, a camp in the
Finger Lake region serving urban youth from Rochester, NY.
