Susanne Ruiz Rodriguez

Susanne Ruíz Rodriguez has been a Washington licensed attorney since 2000. Additionally, she holds a Master of Science in Psychology, summa cum laude.

She has a strong background in legal research and writing. As a first year law student, she researched and wrote all prevailing briefs in State V. Morris, 77 Wash.App. 948, 896 P.2d (1995). She also taught this subject for 5 years.

Her interest in consumer bankruptcy began as a second year student when she started clerking for a bankruptcy firm. She found she really enjoyed both the problem-solving aspects as well as the opportunity to help people get relief from very stressful circumstances. Bankruptcy remains the focal point of her legal work, although she also provides basic estate planning (wills, living trusts, powers of attorney) and assistance with consumer protection matters.

A subject she feels strongly about is the prevention and treatment of family violence. To that end, she has been volunteering for the past 8 years as a counselor working with domestic abuse offenders and is a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor through the National Association of Forensic Counselors. As a trained mediator through the Multnomah County Circuit Court in Portland OR, Susanne is also available for mediating civil cases and divorces.
