Biography

Edward is a powerful and efficient advocate for his clients. Since 2015, Super Lawyer has rated him a Rising Star in the area of commercial litigation.

An experienced attorney with a long history of success in trial practice and transactional matters, T. Edward Williams is a skilled business attorney who have litigated cases involving in variety of business litigation cases, including partnership and shareholder disputes, employment law, uniform commercial code law, oil and gas law, and securities law. Edward is also skilled in bankruptcy and international arbitration matters.

Edward has represented American and foreign companies in matters involving the Defend Trade Secrets Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, among others.

In one example of the quality of Edward’s work, Edward represented a group of founders in a shareholder dispute with outside investors over the ownership and control of a transportation company. After a combative trial, Edward’s clients were awarded ownership and control of the company. In another example, Edward represented a joint venture in a commercial dispute over title to oil and gas interests. Edward’s clients prevailed and were awarded title to the interests, which were valued at $19 million dollars.

Edward had previously formed his own practice in 2011, joined other practices as a national law firm and a prominent Denver-based law firm and has returned to his own practice.

Edward received his undergraduate education at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he majored in Ancient Political Theory while also taking the Great Books curriculum. He received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Edward was a Judicial Fellow to Honorable Justice Gregory Hobbs of the Colorado Supreme Court and an intern to the Honorable Judge Robert M. Russel of the Colorado Court of Appeals.

Born in Mano River, Liberia, West Africa, Edward emigrated to the United States in 1996 to escape the Liberian civil war that began in 1989. In his spare time, Edward reads widely and deeply in various areas and subject matters, including European history, early American history, and classic French novels, in French.
