Tara Eberly: Attorney with Janet, Janet & Suggs, LLC

Biography

Tara Eberly is an attorney who cares—about her clients and her community. Her professional and personal philosophy includes trying to make a meaningful difference to local and global communities. Tara is a firm believer in the idea that “helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for that one person.”

Tara’s drive, integrity, and creativity are consistently demonstrated by her tireless efforts on behalf of her clients both in and out of the courtroom. She has successfully represented domestic and international clients in courtrooms nationwide in both civil and criminal matters. Her trial skills continue at the appellate level where she has represented clients in appeals from decisions of agencies and state courts, including drafting a Writ of Certiorari to the Supreme Court of the United States.

In the spirit of giving back to the community at large, Tara has donated her time and talents to the National Association of Colored Persons (NAACP) where she served as an attorney in the Western Maryland Chapter representing clients in various employment and housing discrimination cases. She has served on the board of several schools, including Beginnings Montessori School in Cumberland, Maryland. She has advocated as a pro bono attorney in both Maryland and the District of Columbia through various organizations that ensure legal representation is available to underserved communities.

Colleagues and clients have described her as genuine, hard-working, a fierce negotiator, calm, collaborative, an effective communicator, and honest. She will do whatever it takes to make sure her clients’ needs are met through every stage of the litigation process because she never loses sight of the fact that her work has real world consequences for those she represents.
