Taylor M. Lawrence

Taylor ignited her passion for the practice of law at a young age. As the daughter of an accomplished litigator, she grew up in the courtroom and learned early the value of effective trial advocacy and hands-on client care. Taylor practices in the areas of worker ’s compensation, medical malpractice, insurance defense, employment law, and municipal law. Throughout the litigation process, Taylor diligently works to successfully resolve her cases while maintaining her focus on the client ’s needs and input.

She received her B.A. in History from Mississippi State University and her J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. She was an active member of the Moot Court Program and competed in several trial and appellate advocacy competitions, ultimately leading her team to become the Regional Champions and National Finalists in the American Bar Association ’s Arbitration Competition. Taylor had the privilege of externing for Justice Jim Kitchens on the Mississippi Supreme Court, where she saw first hand the importance of evaluating every case with an open mind. Taylor also externed with District Attorney Joel Smith of Harrison, Hancock, and Stone Counties, Mississippi and gained experience in preparing a case for trial, conducting voir dire, and impaneling a jury.

Taylor proudly served as a law clerk for Justice David M. Ishee at the Mississippi Court of Appeals prior to his appointment to the Mississippi Supreme Court. As a law clerk, she developed and honed skills she strives to implement in her daily practice, because she understands that a well-reasoned, well-written arguments can often tip the scales.

Taylor is a proud resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and currently resides in Ocean Springs. She is a member of the American Bar Association, serves on the Executive Board of the Jackson County Bar Association and was recently elected as the Coastal I representative for the Mississippi Young Lawyers Division ’s Board of Directors.
