Biography

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Teddy graduated from the University of Florida which he attended on a baseball scholarship. He was part of the 2005 SEC Championship team and national runner-up in the College World Series. There he received a Bachelor of Arts in History while playing for the Gators and earned All-SEC Academic Honor Roll his last three years. After deciding not to pursue a professional baseball career, Teddy obtained his Masters of Science in Sport Management at the University of Florida, graduating in the top 3% of his class. In 2014, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida State College of Law. He also clerked for a second circuit judge, worked at the State Attorney’s Office, and worked at the United States Attorney’s Office in Tallahassee.

Teddy worked as a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office after law school. He tried 20 cases to verdict, including 19 jury trials. He then joined a mid-sized insurance defense firm in 2017 and litigated numerous types of personal injury cases: automobile accidents, trucking accidents, slip and fall, and wrongful death among other personal injury matters.

In addition to his legal work, Teddy volunteers for American Cancer Society events such as Cowford Ball and Relay for Life. He has been a guest speaker at Five Star Veterans Center, spending time with homeless veterans who have mental and physical limitations. Teddy is also active in the Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Bar’s Young Lawyers Section, and is a former pupil in the Chester Bedell Inn of Court.

In his downtime, Teddy enjoys spending time with his family. His father is a Fourth Circuit Senior Judge and his mother is a former law clerk for the Honorable Susan Black and Honorable James Hill both of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. He enjoys golfing and spending time outdoors with his daughter Catherine and son Ward.
