About Attorney Awards

Biography

Terry Michaelson is a founding partner of the firm. Mr. Michaelson received his juris doctorate degree from the law school at Arizona State University in 1976. He is presently the senior, practicing partner and attorney with the firm, with more than thirty-six years of litigation experience.

Before attending law school, Mr. Michaelson received a Masters Degree in International Management from the American School of International Management (now known as the Thunderbird School of Management) in Glendale, Arizona, a school that is consistently ranked #1 in the world in international business education.

Mr. Michaelson is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Idaho. His primary areas of practice include divorce, child custody, adoption, real estate, general corporation representation, collections, insurance law, personal injury, and general litigation.

In 2006, Mr. Michaelson was a recipient of the prestigious Professionalism Award from the Idaho State Bar. The Professionalism Award represents an expression of respect and commendation from the recipient’s peers, and is one of the highest honors any Idaho lawyer might receive during his or her career. It is given to effective advocates who can contend without being contentious and who have brought honor and distinction upon themselves and the profession as a whole. Mr. Michaelson was the first of three attorneys with the firm to receive this recognition.

Mr. Michaelson, and his wife Liz, are the proud parents of three children and are the grandparents of two grandchildren.

Like his longtime partner Carl D. Hamilton, Terry Michaelson has led the firm by example in terms of community involvement, leadership and service. His involvement in the community includes the following, among many others:

• Third District Bar Association (Member, Past President);

• Canyon County Lawyers Club (Member, Past President);

• NNU Crusader Athletic Association (Member, Past President);

• World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame (Secretary, Board of Directors);
