Biography

Theodore R. Bayer has extensive and varied legal experience, having done work for insurance companies and unions, as well as in private practice for more than 45 years. He began his legal career working for Allstate Insurance Co. from 1966 to 1967. Thereafter, he joined the Law Office of Robert Eliasberg as counsel to the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association of New York City from 1968 to 1972. In 1972, he served as a union lawyer for the United Federation of Teachers of New York City. After that, he moved to South Florida and practiced with Fuller Brumer Moss Cohen & Rodgers from 1972 to 1974 and with Krongold & Bass from 1974 to 1976. He maintained a private practice from 1976 to 1980 and was a partner at Tobin, Bayer & Jacobson from 1980 to 1987. He reopened his private practice in 1987 and has been operating in the same location since 1990.

Over the years, Theodore R. Bayer has continued to excel in the legal profession. He has received an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, the highest possible peer review rating in legal abillity and ethical standards from Martindale Hubbell each year since 1998. Additionally, he had been involved in alternative dispute resolution as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association since 1983 and as a civil circuit and county court mediator certified by the State of Florida since 1995. Mr. Bayer has also been certified as an arbitrator by the State of Florida since 1995 and has been approved as an arbitrator for FINRA in 2013. He has been a mediator for the Florida Department of Insurance since 1993, for the Florida Division of Condominiums since 1997 and for residential foreclosure matters since 2010. He was the recipient of the 2004 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award in Probate from the Miami-Dade County “Put Something Back” program.

Mr. Bayer's practice focuses on real estate, estate, trust, probate and business matters. He has regularly represented:

• Clients in purchases and sales of properties and businesses, and in litigation arising from those transactions

• Condominium and homeowners associations, advising boards of directors, collecting delinquent assessments and enforcing rules

• Personal representatives, trustees and beneficiaries of estates
