Theodore S. Heckel

Theodore S. Heckel, resident in the firm’s Houston office, represents debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, committees, and other significant parties in interest in complex restructurings and financially distressed situations, both in and out of court. His representations have involved a wide range of industries, including energy, retail, media and entertainment, real estate, technology and telecom, cryptocurrency, and life sciences.

Theo is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence. Following law school, Theo served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nancy Hershey Lord of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. Prior to joining PSZJ, he practiced financial restructuring at a major international law firm.
