Thomas E. Meade is a practicing attorney at Kirkland & Sommers Co. LPA. He was previously in private practice at Meade Law LLC, where he was the owner and solo practitioner of a family law firm. A native Ohioan, Tom has spent his entire career practicing in the Cincinnati and Dayton area.

Although Tom currently serves the southwestern Ohio region, he is also licensed to practice law in Missouri and Kansas. Tom is fully accredited as a mediator in the state of Ohio with specialty training in divorce and family law.
Throughout his career, Tom has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving his clients with integrity and professionalism. His wide-ranging legal experience, particularly in family law, litigation, and mediation, has shaped him into a well-rounded and highly effective advocate.
Decades of Experience
Before establishing his own firm, Tom worked as an attorney at Kroener & Hale in Milford and West Chester for nearly six years. During this time, he gained extensive experience in General Civil Litigation, Domestic Relations, Juvenile Law, and Wills & Trusts, along with some criminal defense. He handled cases in Clermont, Hamilton, Warren, Clinton, and Butler counties.
Prior to his time at Kroener & Hale, Tom worked as an Associate Attorney at Cordell & Cordell, where he established their presence in the Dayton area by opening an office in Beavercreek. His practice covered primarily Greene and Montgomery counties but stretched as far north as the Toledo area. Tom’s practice at Cordell & Cordell focused exclusively on family law, including divorce, custody, and other domestic relations issues.
Earlier in his career, Tom was with Barbara J. Howard Co., L.P.A., specializing in domestic relations and family law. He guided clients through various legal challenges such as divorce, dissolution, and modification of parental rights or support. His work at Barbara J. Howard also involved litigation, mediation, and collaborative law approaches. While there, Tom developed extensive experience in appellate law case work and was an active member of the Cincinnati Bar Association while co-chairing a committee within the Young Lawyers Section.
Public Service
Before beginning his private legal career, Tom worked at the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Relations Service, as a Conciliation Specialist. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, he had geographic responsibility for Iowa and later for Missouri as well. As a licensed attorney in both Kansas and Missouri, he worked in both states to resolve community and civil rights disputes . He also conducted law enforcement training on civil rights and criminal procedure on behalf of the Justice Department during this time.
Get to know Tom
Tom is a lifelong Reds fan. One of his fondest memories is attending the game with his father on September 11, 1985, when Pete Rose broke the career hit record with hit #4192. He never misses an Opening Day. He also cheers for the Buckeyes and Bengals. He coaches his son’s baseball team and is active in his church and local community.
