Biography

Mr. Shumate represents individuals and businesses in a variety of civil matters including business and employment litigation and disputes involving non-competition agreements, theft of trade secrets, and business torts. Mr. Shumate is a frequent lecturer and author on restrictive covenants, litigation techniques, and legal ethics and technology. In 2011 and 2013, Mr. Shumate was selected as a “Rising Star” by the Mid-South edition of Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor that is limited to no more than 2.5% of Tennessee attorneys.
