Biography

Stephen T. Kopko, Esquire is an associate attorney in the firm with nearly a decade of legal experience. Attorney Kopko has focused his practice on defending motor vehicle accident liability cases and UIM/UM arbitration matters along with premises liability and dog-bite cases. Mr. Kopko also provides his clients with analysis related to insurance coverage issues and insurance subrogation claims.

Attorney Kopko is experienced in all phases of litigation and negotiation and has taken cases to verdict. Mr. Kopko has already earned the respect of opposing counsel and judges with how prepared and thorough he is in the handling of his cases day in and day out.

Attorney Kopko is a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of King’s College with a degree in Political Science (B.A., 2008). He attended law school at the Syracuse University College of Law and graduated in 2011 (J.D., 2011). During law school, he completed internships at the law firm of Saporito, Saporito, & Falcone (now Saporito, Saporito, & Watt) and with the Honorable Joseph Cosgrove then with the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. Attorney Kopko also completed a semester-long internship for the Onondaga County Law Department.

After graduating from Law School, Attorney Kopko worked as a volunteer Public Defender for Lackawanna County and was an associate at a Scranton general practice law firm before coming into his current position at Cummins Law.

Attorney Kopko takes great pride in returning all phone calls and emails within 24 hours. He moves his files forward in a prompt and efficient fashion. Attorney Kopko strives to make his client contacts not only feel comfortable during all communications but also confident that they are receiving the best representation possible.

In addition to being a litigator, Attorney Kopko has also published several articles analyzing civil litigation issues. These articles have appeared in the Pennsylvania Law Weekly and the Pennsylvania Lawyer magazine. Attorney Kopko has also presented at civil litigation update seminar presentations for various clients.

PERSONAL

Attorney Kopko resides in Clarks Summit with his wife, Julia, and his daughter. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, playing softball and basketball, and participating in a fantasy football league.
