Biography

Tracy Miller is a litigation-focused attorney whose practice includes criminal defense, general civil litigation, personal injury, and appellate work. She brings extensive courtroom experience, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to her clients in every matter she handles.

Tracy earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2019. She began her legal career as a law clerk in the Second Judicial Circuit, where she was fortunate to receive mentorship and guidance from twelve circuit court judges. Following her clerkship, Tracy then spent the next six years practicing criminal defense, including over four years as a public defender.

During that time, Tracy represented individuals facing some of the most serious charges in the legal system, including murder, rape, aggravated assault, child abuse, burglary, DUI offenses, drug distribution, and drug possession. Her experience handling high-stakes matters has shaped her into a confident and effective advocate, capable of analyzing difficult facts, identifying strategic defenses, and presenting arguments clearly and persuasively to both judges and juries. She brings those same skills into her civil practice, where preparation, precision, and advocacy are critical.

Tracy approaches the practice of law with a unique combination of intellectual curiosity, strategic drive, and genuine empathy for her clients. She is naturally drawn to understanding people and the circumstances that bring them into the legal system, and she views each case as an opportunity to both advocate and guide.

Known for her creativity and problem-solving ability, Tracy works to identify arguments and strategies that others may overlook. At the same time, she values professionalism and integrity, striving to build strong working relationships with opposing counsel and the court while maintaining a reputation for grit, preparation, and ethical advocacy.

Tracy is known for creating an environment where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being honest about their circumstances. She takes pride in breaking down complex legal issues into clear, understandable terms, empowering her clients to make informed decisions while she advocates on their behalf.

When not practicing law, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her daughter, and catching live music whenever she can. Raised in a highly competitive, athletic family, she developed a drive that continues to shape her approach both personally and professionally. Tracy has coached students in dance, volleyball, and softball, and values opportunities to mentor young athletes and help them grow on and off the field.
