Biography

Triana Ramirez is a proud South Texas native and a distinguished attorney whose career masterfully blends the precision of corporate counsel with the advocacy of complex civil defense litigation. Known for her steady judgment, practical problem-solving skills, and genuine commitment to helping clients navigate challenging situations with confidence, Triana is a well-respected civil defense litigator.

Before joining WSHB as a senior associate attorney at the Rio Grande Valley office, Triana served as in-house counsel for the nation’s largest physician-owned healthcare system. In this role, she provided advice on matters central to organizational governance, business operations, and legal and regulatory compliance. Triana developed a comprehensive transactional and corporate portfolio, guiding key negotiations, drafting complex agreements, managing contract life cycles, and developing policies that established enterprise-wide standards across clinical, administrative, and regulatory domains. Her insights into complex, multi-stakeholder healthcare operations and business practices now inform her thoughtful, business-minded approach to defending complex claims and navigating disputes.

Today, Triana brings this same energy, momentum, and strategic insight to her legal practice with the firm. Her experience in a highly regulated, fast-moving environment enables her to approach disputes with a unique perspective-one that recognizes the interplay among legal exposure, business objectives, and strategic decision-making.

Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, Triana has a front-row view of cross-border commerce, complex regulatory systems, and the realities of industries operating on a global scale. She is a proud graduate of Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), where she earned her B.A. in English and Economics, graduating magna cum laude. During her time as an undergraduate, Triana was elected the first-ever Miss TAMIU, receiving a record-breaking number of student body votes, and she also served as the first two-time student body president. She also received her Master’s Degree in English from TAMIU.

Triana continued her education at Texas Tech University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. and completed the Health Law Certification Concentration Program. While in law school, Triana served as President for both the Tech Health Law Association and the South Texas Students Association. Notably, she had the distinct honor of being nominated as the graduate commencement speaker and was also recognized in “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.”

Beyond her legal profession, Triana is happily married to her wonderful, loving husband and is the proud mother of their two beautiful children. Her family is her heart and they put the “fun” in every day. She is licensed to practice in Texas and New Mexico.
