Tristan Yohan Jagroop was born in Hayward, California, and was raised in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from San Jose State University in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Six years later, in June 2012, Tristan graduated from Lincoln Law School of San Jose with his Juris Doctor degree.
