Biography

Tyler Benjamin Gilwit is a Partner in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale East office's Property Group and General Liability Group. Mr. Gilwit’s practice focuses across all fields of litigation, including personal injury claims, premises liability, negligent security, automobile, bad faith/extra-contractual liability, trucking claims defense, and first party property claims for residential as well as commercial properties. He dedicates to his practice by providing an aggressive and zealous defense for insurance carriers in first party insurance claims and all general liability matters with favorable results.

During Mr. Gilwit’s undergraduate tenure, he attended Florida Atlantic University’s Business School and majored in Finance. He graduated summa cum laude, made Dean’s List all eight semesters, and was the number one finance student in his graduating class in August 2014. Subsequently, Mr. Gilwit moved to Miami to attend law school at the University of Miami School of Law to obtain his law degree. While in law school, he focused his legal studies primarily in litigation by choosing the Litigation & Dispute Resolution concentration that the University of Miami offers and he participated in the law school's Litigation Skills program.

Mr. Gilwit devoted his time to public service while in law school, working as a Certified Legal Intern at the State Attorney’s Office in Miami for two summers.
