Biography

With over 15 years of experience, Tyler is an accomplished trial attorney dedicated to providing expert legal representation in a wide range of complex cases, including FELA, Civil Rights, and Labor and Employment. Tyler has developed a reputation for success in both high-stakes litigation and thoughtful negotiations. His clients have come to rely on him for his methodical and client-focused approach and a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes.

Throughout his career, Tyler has represented clients in diverse industries, focusing on defending Class I Railroads, State and local government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies against claims brought pursuant to the FELA, Section 1983 claims, premises liability claims, complex commercial disputes as well as matters brought pursuant to Title VII. Having handled a broad range of cases from inception through trial, Tyler excels at dissecting complicated legal issues, crafting compelling arguments, and providing clients with clear, actionable legal guidance.

Prior to joining Reifers Holmes and Peters, LLC, Tyler was a partner at one of Chicago’s top railroad firms. There, he represented Class I railroads in FELA, personal injury, and employment actions; litigated matters related to obtaining insurance coverage for his clients; served as a System Coordinating Counsel overseeing off-track motor vehicle accident cases; and represented local government in Section 1983 claims.

Tyler’s extensive legal experience also includes significant expertise in arbitration before State and local administrative bodies. He has successfully handled numerous arbitration cases and administrative hearings, particularly in the areas of employment law. His experience with arbitration complements his broader litigation practice, allowing him to provide comprehensive dispute resolution strategies for his clients across various industries

Tyler began his career as an assistant attorney general for the state of Illinois. He also served as an administrative law judge for the State of Illinois where he presided over hearings related to Medicaid vendor services and supervised other administrative law judges. Through his broad range of experience, Tyler has honed his ability to balance aggressive litigation tactics with a focus on practical, long-term solutions that has earned him the trust of individuals and businesses alike.
