Tyler James Canfield is an Associate in the firm’s Miami office, specializing in admiralty and maritime law. With years of experience as a maritime attorney, Mr. Canfield has a robust background representing major cruise lines, recreational vessel owners, Protection & Indemnity Clubs, charterers, and marine insurers in all phases of state and federal maritime litigation and arbitration proceedings.

Mr. Canfield earned his Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2022 and holds a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton.

Growing up in New York, Mr. Canfield developed a love for sailing on the Long Island Sound, inspired by his father. During law school, he interned at a boutique Miami law firm, where he first handled maritime crewmember claims and arbitrations, solidifying his passion for maritime law. His dedication to his field is evident in his frequent interactions with captains and crew, leveraging his seamanship knowledge to enhance his practice. His commitment to maritime law and his clients makes him a valuable asset to the firm’s Maritime Litigation Group.

Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Canfield enjoys scuba diving, sailing, and golfing. He also volunteers as a sailing instructor for children with special needs at Shake-A-Leg Miami.
