Biography

Tyler Peters has more than 30 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation for corporate clients from a wide variety of industries. He has tried cases in Kansas and Missouri state and federal courts, and has argued appeals before the Kansas Supreme Court and Kansas and Missouri Court of Appeals. His experience includes employment and post-employment dispute litigation, including extensive corporate enforcement and avoidance of non-compete agreements and associated unfair competition and trade secret misappropriation claims; breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud claims; owner, general contractor, subcontractor and engineer representation in all aspects of commercial, residential and governmental construction matters; real estate development, foreclosure, commercial lease, and other property right litigation; business and partnership dissolution litigation; regional representation of publicly traded telecommunications company; wrongful death, product liability and other personal injury claims; intellectual property litigation; insurance coverage disputes; ERISA class action litigation; bankruptcy and securities litigation.

Tyler is admitted to practice before the federal and state bars in Kansas and Missouri. He has also litigated cases in various federal courts around the country on a visiting basis. He is a member of the Johnson County, Kansas and American Bar Associations and was selected to participate in the inaugural Kansas Inns of Court Program. Tyler enjoys Martindale-Hubbell’s highest “AV Preeminent” peer review rating and was also selected by his peers for inclusion as a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyer®.

As a lifelong area resident, he attended Rockhurst High School and matriculated to the University of Kansas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with honors, in 1988. Tyler received his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in May 1991, where he was a member of both the Law Review and Urban Lawyer Publication staffs.
