Biography

I have been practicing law since my graduation from the Ohio State University School of Law in 1985. Prior to going to law school I obtained an undergraduate degree in Business Management and an MBA, both from Ohio University. I have extensive experience in representing clients both in a wide-ranging assortment of civil litigation matters and in various business transaction. I am available to handle civil litigation matters ranging from business collections, real estate disputes, personal injury actions and probate litigation. I also handle complex business litigation involving contracts, partnerships and corporate disputes. In addition, I represent a number of construction companies and material suppliers ranging from one person companies to those with thousands of employees. My daughter’s love of horses has also resulted in my not only owning a few but to representing owners, trainers and breeders.I am AV Rated by Martindale-Hubble and have been recognized by Columbus CEO Magazine as one of the top Civil Litigators in Central Ohio.I recently completed six years on the Board of the Buckeye Valley BIA, serving as president in 2013. During my time on the Buckeye Valley BIA Board I had the honor of receiving the president’s award in 2012 and again in 2016.Currently I sit on the Board of the Licking County Family YMCA. In that capacity I oversee a program I began in 2014 known as the Heathy Kids Network. That program, through the generous efforts of volunteers and donors, provides food to children on the weekends who otherwise would have little or nothing to eat. During the 2016—2017 school year the Healthy Kids Network served 310 children at ten different elementary schools in Licking County, Ohio. The goal for the 2017-2018 school year is to serve 450 children in sixteen different schools.I recently started my own firm after twenty-six years as a partner in a prominent Newark, Ohio law firm, having decided it was time for a new adventure. While I principally practice in Licking and surrounding counties, I frequently represent clients throughout the State of Ohio.
