Walt Fair's impressive career in the legal and real estate industry
reflects his dedication and expertise. He embarked on his legal
journey by gaining admission to Baylor University School of Law
before completing his undergraduate studies. In 1983, at the young
age of 23, he earned his Juris Doctorate degree, making him one of
the youngest lawyers in modern Texas history. His commitment to
academic excellence was evident during his time as an undergraduate
at Baylor, where he received recognition by being named to the Dean's
Distinguished Academic Honor List.
Walt's
involvement in the land title business dates back to 1976, and he
served as the Managing Director of Home Abstract and Title Company
until 2003. Notably, in 1991, he was honored with the title of
Stewart Title Guaranty Company's Texas Young Titleman of the Year.
As an educator,
Walt serves as an adjunct professor at a local college and holds
licenses from the Texas Real Estate Commission to instruct various
courses, including Principles of Real Estate, Real Estate Law,
Promulgated Contract Forms, Law of Contracts, and Law of Agency,
along with continuing education electives. His legal expertise is
recognized through licenses to practice law granted by the Texas
Supreme Court, Colorado Supreme Court, United States District Court
for the Western District of Texas, and the United States Supreme
Court.
In addition to
his legal and educational roles, Walt has been actively involved in
leadership positions. He served as Chairman of the Board of Synergy
Bank, SSB, and Synergy Mortgage Corporation. Currently, he holds the
position of President at RE/MAX Centex, Realtors, earning him the
distinction of RE/MAX of Texas Broker/Owner of the Year in both 2012
and 2014.
The Law Firm of
Walt Fair, PLLC, primarily focuses on representing financial
institutions, investors, developers, builders, and individuals in
real estate transactions. The firm serves as a fee attorney office
for a Fidelity National Title Insurance Company agency and
successfully closes over a thousand real estate transactions
annually. Additionally, the firm handles a multitude of transactions
for its bank clientele and offers IRC § 1031 qualified intermediary
services.
Walt's extensive
experience extends to the formation and operation of complex series
limited liability companies, effectively utilizing their liability
compartmentalization feature.
