Wayne Howard Hammack

Mr. Hammack has substantial experience defending asbestos and toxic tort matters on behalf of major manufacturers, distributors, and premises defendants. His experience includes managing claims through all phases of litigation - from early case assessment and discovery strategy through dispositive motions, trial, and coordinated multi-defendant proceedings.

Before joining London Fischer, Wayne litigated insurance bad faith and claims-handling disputes, and defended professional liability matters on behalf of architects, land surveyors, and medical professionals. He also serves as coverage counsel to event cancellation and contingency insurers in high-stakes disputes.

Mr. Hammack takes a collaborative approach to case strategy, working closely with clients to understand their business objectives and litigation risk tolerance so that each matter is resolved on terms consistent with the client's broader interests. That approach has enabled him to build long-standing client relationships grounded in trust and consistent results.

Wayne is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Outside of his practice, Wayne is an active volunteer in youth and charitable organizations, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Notable Litigated Matters

•Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s v. AEG Live and The Michael Jackson Company LLC

Wayne represented Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s in a high-profile rescission action under a contingency cancellation policy issued for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” concerts in London. Following Jackson’s death, the matter was litigated in Los Angeles Superior Court based upon alleged material misrepresentations and non-disclosures regarding Jackson’s prior drug use and health history. After more than a year of intense litigation, AEG Live dropped its $17.5 million insurance claim in exchange for a waiver of costs. The litigation continued and was ultimately resolved with the Estate of Michael Jackson.
