Whitney L. Warren

Whitney L. Warren is a civil litigator with extensive experience in complex insurance litigation, products liability defense, professional liability, personal injury, business disputes, first party claims, and appeals.

Representing clients from pre-suit investigation through appeal, she will assist her clients every step of the way. This includes litigation strategy, analysis of legal issues across multiple jurisdictions, assessment of client's potential exposure, and ultimate implementation of the defense plan.

A Texas native, Whitney earned her bachelor's degree, cum laude, in Hospitality Management, with a minor in Business at Boston University before returning to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. While attending law school, Whitney was selected as a Managing Editor on the International Law Review, served as treasurer for the American Constitution Society, and was a volunteer mentor for first year law students. Whitney additionally volunteered at the Dedman School of Law Civil Clinic where she assisted underserved clients in a variety of matters.

After graduating cum laude, Whitney was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2013. She is additionally admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas. She continues her involvement in the Dallas community through the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Dallas Bar Association.

Representative Matters:

Panel counsel for multiple nationwide insurers handling complex insurance litigation, construction/surety cases and first party property claims, professional liability defense (including lawyers, engineers, architects and insurance agents), products liability defense, toxic torts, catastrophic injury and wrongful death.

Represent insured in first-party coverage dispute involving collision damage and business loss claim stemming from motor vehicle accident, obtaining prompt payment to client for damages and third-party liability defense.

Counsel to national security camera supplier in unfair competition, tortious interference, and misappropriation of trade secrets action, resulting in clients' ideal outcome in mediation.

Counsel to investment partnership in dispute involving bank's wrongful escheatment of clients' shares to the Texas Comptroller in violation of Texas Property Code Ch. 72.

Counsel to multinational manufacturer in breach of warranties for malfunctioning industrial machine, obtaining beneficial settlement for client.

Counsel to hospital in non-compete buy-out provisions and effect of arbitration waiver clause.

In credit risk insurance policy dispute for multinational electronics distributor, managed all aspects of discovery, extensive preparation of multiple witnesses, including corporate representative, for depositions, and act as primary contact for opposing counsel and client.

Represent insured in coverage litigation objecting to insurer's wrongful interpretation and application of "capacity of creditor" exclusion where underlying pleadings alleged violations of the Texas Security Act, fraud, and misrepresentation.

Conduct coverage analysis on insurer's duty to defend based on "eight-corner's" analysis of insurance policy as well as indemnity analysis in construction disputes under recent implementation of Texas and Louisiana Anti-Indemnity Statutes.
