Biography

Bill Gilbert is a trial lawyer whose practice focus is serious personal injury, wrongful death, professional negligence, product liability, employment law and civil rights litigation. Mr. Gilbert has litigated complex cases across the United States, Canada and Central and South America. His litigation achievements include a $716 million jury verdict in a wrongful death action involving the illegal sale of alcohol to minors.

Bill has a unique prospective of the law borne out of extensive life experience. Prior to becoming an attorney, he served in the military, worked on large cattle ranches in his home state of Montana, guided hunters and fisherman in Montana and Alaska, skied professionally, supervised crews on construction projects and spent four years serving the community as a deputy sheriff. He has traveled the world extensively following his dreams and passion, exploring, socializing, fishing, hunting and trekking in some of the most remote places on the planet. Bill has experienced the joy of parenthood and high of personal and professional success, as well as the daunting lows of personal tragedy and emotional and financial hardship. His diverse background and wealth of life experience give him a unique prospective on the law and its application to clients' problems. This diversity has proven to be invaluable to the lawyers he works with and the clients he represents.

In addition to being nominated by his peers as a Super Lawyer every year since 2012, and repeatedly listed as one of Top Attorneys in Washington through "Seattle Met," Bill has been selected by his peers as one of the Top Lawyers in Spokane, and named as a Top 100 Lawyer in America. Bill has also earned the distinction of being lead counsel in a verdict award recognized as one of the Nations Top 100 Verdicts through The National Law Journal. Additionally, in recognition of his professional excellence and commitment to his clients, Bill has been inducted into the Worldwide Registry. Bill is also a faculty member of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College where he teaches trial skills to fellow trial lawyers.
