Bill Turner counsels both large corporate clients and entrepreneur/investor clients in a variety of industry groups. Mr. Turner's practice includes a wide range of business transactions and operations (strategic planning, company acquisitions and divestitures, financing, and licensing) and real estate-based transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, 1031 like-kind exchanges, development, financing, leasing and foreclosures/work-outs). Mr. Turner began his legal career in New York as in-house counsel for a London-based entertainment company. In 2001, Mr. Turner moved to Nashville, TN and practiced business law for 10 years with one of the largest US-based law firms before returning to his native Mississippi to establish his own business law firm. Recent Representative Matters: Represented a quick service restaurant franchisor with its entry into the Nashville, TN market through its purchase of 23 restaurant sites; Represented an investment bank in a $26 billion asset-backed security financing transaction of an international hotel franchising company; Represented a publicly-traded company in its $131 million acquisition of two international hotel chains; Represented a major university medical center in the negotiation of a lease for 440,000 square feet of medical and lifestyle office space in Nashville, TN; Represented a national lender, as lead lender, in a $50 million syndicated loan for the development and construction of a riverfront condominium and marina lifestyle center; Represented an investor group in its acquisition of a historic hotel in downtown Nashville, TN; Represented a timberland investor group in the multi-state sale and acquisition of timberland via a §1031 like-kind exchange.
