William “Bill” Pauley is a Senior Associate Attorney with Stange Law Firm, proudly serving clients from the firm’s Lexington, Kentucky office. He is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate challenging legal situations with professionalism, understanding, and care.Bill earned his Juris Doctor from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, where he received the Commonwealth Scholarship for full tuition. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.Bill brings more than two decades of diverse legal experience to his role at Stange Law Firm. Before joining the Lexington, KY divorce and family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Bill most recently served as a Housing Justice Attorney with the Kentucky Equal Justice Center, where he represented tenants in eviction proceedings under the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. In this role, he advocated for housing stability and worked to secure favorable outcomes for clients facing difficult circumstances.Throughout his career, Bill has served in several key legal and leadership roles across Kentucky. As General Counsel to the Kentucky Senate Democratic Leadership, he analyzed legislation for constitutional compliance and provided legal recommendations to Senate leadership. He also served as a Staff Attorney for the Kentucky Department for Local Government, where he advised municipalities on statutory compliance, procurement, and governance, drafted administrative regulations for the state’s $250 million Broadband Deployment Fund, and provided legal support to the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority.Earlier in his career, Bill worked as General Counsel and Compliance Officer for PremierTox, Inc., where he oversaw HR operations and regulatory compliance during a period of significant organizational growth. He also maintained a solo practice, representing clients in family law, property disputes, and guardianship cases. Bill began his legal career as a Staff Attorney with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, where he defended indigent clients in district and circuit courts and participated in Drug Court and Teen Court initiatives.In addition to his extensive legal experience, Bill has been active in professional and community organizations. He is a former President of the Municipal Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, has served on the Fiscal Services Committee for the Ronald McDonald House of the Bluegrass, and has volunteered with the Scott County Drug Court and Teen Court programs.With his long-standing dedication to public service and broad experience across multiple areas of law, Bill approaches each case with empathy, diligence, and a focus on achieving positive outcomes for his clients.
