William R. Cumming: Attorney with Cumming & Associates

Biography

Bill attended college at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he double-majored in economics and political science. After college, he took some time off and traveled to Japan to teach English. He then attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and graduated in 1998.

Before starting Cumming & Associates in 2008, Bill was a partner at a national law firm where the focus of his practice was complex litigation matters in such areas as business disputes, real estate, intellectual property, and employment law. He also had a busy corporate transactional practice.

Shortly after Bill started the firm, the economy took a big hit and bankruptcies were on the rise. Bill saw this as an opportunity to expand the firm’s practice and help others in a difficult time. For the past 10 years, Bill has represented hundreds of clients who filed bankruptcy and his practice also includes bankruptcy litigation and representing creditors.

Within the legal community, Bill has built a solid reputation as a skilled trial attorney with a winning track record of defending clients and obtaining seven-figure verdicts. He has tried several cases to verdict and has resolved countless cases through the mediation process. Bill also has a solid reputation as a knowledgeable and savvy transactional corporate attorney who represents clients in a wide range of corporate matters ranging from forming companies to complex business transactions.

Super Lawyers Magazine has recognized Bill as a Rising Star on multiple occasions, and OC Metro magazine named him one of Orange County’s top attorneys.

Bill also speaks regularly to different organizations on the topics of litigation, real estate, and bankruptcy. He has also been an adjunct professor of law at Trinity Law School.

Bill has been married for over 20 years to his wife Julie and they have three children. He enjoys riding mountain bikes, surfing, flying airplanes and playing the guitar.
