Biography

Was born in Wilmington, North Carolina. David conducted his undergraduate studies at the University of North Texas and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. He attended St. Mary’s University School of Law where he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Fraternity and was recognized with American Jurisprudence Awards in Contracts and Employment Law. David received his J.D. in 1990 and joined this firm in 1991. David is a Shareholder in Curney, Farmer, House & Osuna, P.C.

David was admitted to the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Bar in 1990 and was honored as Who’s Who in American Law (1994/1995). He is licensed in the Southern, Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas; United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the United States Circuit Court of Appeals (Washington, DC). He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, San Antonio Bar Association, and Defense Research Institute.

David’s primary area of practice is insurance law (including insurance coverage, insurance coverage litigation, representation of insurance companies in first-party litigation and other types of litigation). He has completed hundreds of coverage reviews and opinions on various topics and has experience with commercial package policies, (general liability and property), homeowner’s policies (standard and non-standard), professional liability policies, business owner’s policies, commercial/business automobile policies, umbrella/excess policies, errors and omissions policies, personal auto policies, personal liability policies, farm and ranch policies, and pollution coverage policies. He routinely counsels clients and resolves complex coverage matters involving issues of multi-year trigger and allocation, additional insured and contractual indemnity, as well as extra-contractual liability arising of state specific claims handling guidelines or time limit demands. David represents insurance companies in coverage, breach of contract and bad faith lawsuits, and in disputes against other insurers. David lectures on insurance coverage at various continuing education and training seminars and has presented continuing education programs to the San Antonio Claims Association and Houston Claims Association, among others.
