Wyatt Vespermann is an attorney with Panish | Shea | Boyle |
Ravipudi LLP and focuses on pharmaceutical mass torts and foster care abuse
litigation. Mr. Vespermann has extensive experience handling serious injury
cases involving defective medical devices and currently represents women
impacted by the July 2019 worldwide recall of Allergan BIOCELL® textured breast
implants due to the risk of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell
Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). He also has experience with injury and wrongful death
cases involving traumatized youths who are the victims of abuse, neglect, and
exploitation.
In 2022, Mr. Vespermann served as trial counsel in the case
of Jane
Doe v. Pasadena Unified School District, resulting in a $26 million
verdict for a foster child who was sexually abused due to negligent supervision
by a school district. Also in 2022, Mr. Vespermann, working alongside Brian
Panish and Peter Kaufman, secured a $32 million dollar settlement in the case
of J.G.
v. County of Tulare Child Welfare Services for an infant who suffer
profound brain damages after reports of his endangerment were ignored by the
county’s child protective services division.
Originally from a small farming community in California’s
Central Valley, Mr. Vespermann began his career as a trial attorney in Orange
County handling matters involving catastrophic personal injury, products
liability, and governmental entity liability. He then shifted to cases
involving federally regulated medical devices, including claims implicating the
preemption defense. Mr. Vespermann has spoken on topics in this field,
including medical device reporting and complaint handling.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Vespermann worked as a
paralegal focusing on elder law and helping to protect the rights of senior
citizens. After working as a paralegal, he attended Pepperdine University
School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2018 and graduating cum laude.
During his time at Pepperdine University, Mr. Vespermann was selected for
membership in The Order of The Barristers for his performance on the school’s
trial advocacy team. While on the team, he competed in the 2017 San Diego
Defense Lawyers National Trial Competition in San Diego, CA, and the 2018
Student Trial Advocacy Competition hosted by AAJ in Santa Monica, CA.
Mr. Vespermann is a member in good standing of the State Bar
of California and the State of Nevada, an active member of Consumer Attorneys
Association of Los Angeles, and admitted to practice in the United States
District Court for the Central, Northern, and Eastern Districts.
