Katherine (Katie) Huso is originally from Oxnard, California. She attended college at California State University, Long Beach, graduating with a Political Science degree in 2003. Katie attended the University of Montana School of Law and obtained her J.D. in 2007. Following law school, Katie practiced civil litigation/insurance defense in Butte. She eventually returned to Billings and joined the law firm of Matovich, Keller & Murphy, P.C. in 2010. She became a shareholder in 2015.
Katie practices in a variety of litigation areas, including general personal injury defense, civil litigation, insurance coverage, bad faith/unfair trade practices, and employment law. She is admitted to practice before all Montana state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Katie has served as trial counsel in multiple cases in Montana local, state and federal courts, where she has represented both individual and corporate clients.
In her free time, Katie enjoys boating, skiing and traveling with her husband, spending time with her miniature dachshund, Bianca, and visiting her parents in Joliet. Katie also serves on the Board of Directors of the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
