Biography

As a Bahamas-based litigator, I'm passionate about justice. I believe in my clients—and take them to court with great confidence—short of any actual guarantees.
I was born in Nassau, and educated in Canada and the U.K. (did my University of Buckingham and Inns of Court School of Law). After becoming a barrister, I joined Callenders & Co., and for years, I litigated probate and maritime cases—and established my reputation as a litigator who always came prepared. I've since joined ParrisWhittaker, a Bahamas-based firm founded by two other lawyers in the family. Together, we provide a range of solutions for multi-national and regional companies in need of Bahamas representation.
The key to winning any case is in being strategic. As in business, you've got to think a few steps ahead of your opponent. I am young and energetic, so I can juggle several cases at once. I can get cases expedited, and I know how to avoid delays. I have great respect for the legal system, and judges know it.
I've obtained millions from favorable judgments and settlements. My most frequent cases involve matters arising out of admiralty, maritime, probate, commercial and personal injury law—for which I represent crew members, vessel repair shops, shipyard owners, injured plaintiffs, corporations, and executors/executrices for large estates. I also represent clients seeking or defending a judicial review (in the Supreme Court) on governmental rulings such as a Port Authority license granted or denied.
Contact me if you have any questions regarding Bahamas-based litigation, maritime, admiralty, probate or personal injury law, or judicial review. I would relish the opportunity to connect!
