Insurance Regulatory
Representing licensed entities and agents in the insurance industry, Adams and Reese advises clients on all matters before state insurance departments and the NAIC. Our experience on both sides of the insurance industry — enforcement and policymaking as well as industry counsel and defense — helps us leverage solutions with governing authorities that support a healthy insurance climate.

Our Attorneys
Our team includes the former Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Louisiana who mobilized his office to process 950,000 claims and 6,000 complaints following Hurricane Katrina. Inviting senior claims officers to support the effort resulted in timely protection of citizens as well as stabilization of the state’s insurance industry.
Our experience extends to strategies that defeat potentially harmful legislation as well as development of model laws that encompass several states. If we must go to court, our attorneys have represented clients in some of the most technically challenging and precedent-setting cases.

Our minority attorney committee also meets regularly with the firm’s Diversity Chairwoman to further develop and promote diversity through events targeted to other minority attorneys, clients and community members. This committee has successfully held numerous minority receptions and events in conjunction with the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the Bayou Classic and the Essence Music Festival, as well as sponsorships including the Urban League, Diversity Summits, Black Business Networks, Minority Bar Association events, National Minority AIDS Council efforts, as well as endowed professorships and scholarships at historically black universities.
