Workers' Compensation

Experienced Pennsylvania Workers' Comp Attorneys

Injuries can occur to anyone at any time, no matter what type of job they are doing. When you are injured on the job, you may need help with your medical expenses and replacing your lost wages while you recover. You may also face the possibility of not being able to return to work.

Although you may not need an attorney to help collect your initial workers' compensation benefits, you may want to seek the advice of a Pittsburgh workers' compensation attorney so you are aware of your rights. At Caroselli Beachler & Coleman, L.L.C., we will be happy to explain your rights under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and monitor the progress of your benefits at no charge. The insurance companies have attorneys on their side, so why wouldn't you want an experienced team of workers compensation lawyers on your side?

Pennsylvania workers' compensation law can provide medical and wage loss benefits

Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation laws were enacted to protect employees by providing medical and wage loss benefits through your employer. The laws also provide for death benefits in case of a fatal injury. While accidents are the most common form of on-the-job injuries, you may be also entitled to benefits if you have a work-related disease or occupational illness, if you have been exposed to a hazardous substance, if you have suffered a loss of hearing as a result of noise exposure at work, or if you have other ailments, such as a repetitive motion disorder. Preexisting conditions that are aggravated by your employment are covered under Pennsylvania workers' compensation.

To be eligible for workers' compensation benefits, you must be able to show:

  • You were employed at the time of your injury
  • Your injury did occur while you were on the job
  • Your injury was related to your employment

Over the last 4 decades of handling workers' compensation cases, our workers' compensation lawyers have built a strong reputation for helping clients suffering from many different types of injuries:

  • Head injuries
  • Back injuries
  • Joint and muscle injuries
  • Hearing loss
  • Scars and disfigurement
  • Silicosis
  • Repetitive stress injuries
  • Pre-existing conditions

We take our responsibility to you and your family seriously, and are dedicated to treating you with compassion and respect. This means that our lawyers are with you at every step of the way, guiding you through the Pennsylvania legal system so that your workers' compensation matter is resolved quickly and effectively. We provide clear information in plain language and we answer any questions you have about workers' compensation:

  • What is the Workers' Compensation Act?
  • Can I sue my employer?
  • What are the fees and costs?
  • What does specific loss mean?
  • Coordination of benefits
  • Alternative compensation programs
  • Lump-sum settlements
  • Impairment rating evaluation
  • Vocational interviews
  • Denied workers' compensation claims

Attorneys at Caroselli Beachler & Coleman, L.L.C., represent workers from all occupations, including railroad workers and maritime workers. These laborers have different compensation programs that apply to them:

  • FELA and railroad injury
  • Jones Act and maritime injury
  • Longshoreman and Harbor Workers Compensation Act

Time Limitations
The workers' compensation law includes a variety of different time limits, but the two most important relate to a worker's duty to notify his or her employer that an injury occurred, and the time limit within which a claim may be pursued.

At Caroselli Beachler & Coleman, L.L.C., we do not believe in taking shortcuts. When we handle your workers' compensation case, we prepare it to go to decision before a workers' comp judge. While your case may settle, it often settles more favorably because we are prepared.
