  • Defense of homeowner from claim by illegal worker of an uninsured contractor hired to work on client’s roof whose injuries resulted in the amputation of a foot.
     
  • Successful resolution of wrongful death case by plaintiffs’ heirs who sued client after decedent suffocated in leaves of a palm tree client hired worker to trim.

  • Defense of double foot amputation claim against client sued by plaintiff worker injured by shearing blade while operating baler equipment.
     
  • Favorable settlement during trial for client sued by plaintiff in foot amputation case arising from stepping on nail while working on client’s property.
     
  • Defense of client day-care operator sued for wrongful death of seven year old boy who was killed by a falling iron fence.
     
  • Defense of major neurological claim involving medical expenses of $900,000 brought against client who failed to properly secure a wheel after rotating tires causing a wheel to come lose on the freeway and go through plaintiff’s windshield.
     
  • Won summary judgment in favor of golf course landscaping company based on primary assumption of the risk in case where plaintiff lost his eye after being struck by a golf ball while walking across a fairway.
     
  • Obtained defense arbitration award in case against landlord by tenant who stuck a screwdriver through his eye while attempting to remove a defective door.
     
  • Arbitration defense award in favor of landlord in wrongful death action wherein three surviving children sued for death of mother in a fire based on landlord’s alleged failure to comply with smoke detector regulations.
     
  • Summary judgment against plaintiff purchaser of client’s home for losing recently transplanted kidney due to alleged mold exposure in residence.
     
  • Defense verdict at trial for client sued by friend who tripped over hose on property and sustained burst fracture of shoulder with $100,000 in medical bills.

  • Client’s demurrer sustained without leave to amend regarding a mother’s wrongful death claim for her son in motorcycle accident based on showing mother not financially dependent on decedent, followed by successful opposition to tardy addition of one of surviving children.
     
  • Summary judgment granted for client sued for negligent supervision of child’s party when fight broke out causing plaintiff to suffer permanent facial lacerations due to being struck in the face with a broken beer bottle.
     
  • Court entered summary judgment in wrongful death action when client sued for fight at his party that continued afterwards when plaintiff was intentionally run over by a vehicle while leaving the property.
     
  • Favorable settlement during trial for client involved in an automobile/pedestrian accident. MPP retooled the defense of damages for the admitted liability case within 30 days of trial following plaintiff’s counsel’s refusal to accept a policy limits offer.
     
  • Favorable settlement of motorcycle accident claim by plaintiff who struck a vehicle towing a cement mixer due to a medical condition and loss of use of his right arm.
     
  • Defense verdict at trial for client sued by an employee who suffered back injuries requiring three surgeries and resulting in over $550,000 in medical expenses.
     
  • Defense verdict at trial for client sued by plaintiff who was struck riding a bicycle by client’s contract employee. MPP established that the employer was not liable for the accident since the contract employee was outside of the scope of his employment at the time of the incident.
