The Copeland Cook Transportation Group is actively involved in the defense of transportation claims, both pre- and post-suit. Our group has the trial experience and specialized knowledge necessary to represent all aspects of the transportation industry, both self-insureds as well as through insurance carriers. Our knowledge of Mississippi venues, state and federal, coupled with our trial experience in this area of the law frequently results in the early resolution of claims. We provide each client with expedient case analysis of liability and damages, a thorough action/litigation plan, and a practical and efficient resolution path.

Successfully defending a transportation case requires knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, transportation standards of care on a local and federal level, and accident reconstruction involving multiple types of commercial vehicles. Our attorneys work diligently to stay current on these issues, as well as issues involving document retention, vehicle preservation and release, and black box technology, all of which serve a vital role in successfully defending the transportation industry.

Our attorneys recognize that emergencies are not always limited to traditional business hours. For this reason, we have an Emergency Response Team to provide 24-hour assistance, 365 days a year. Further, our transportation team has a ready network of adjusters, accident and mechanical experts, and criminal defense attorneys who specialize in transportation and are familiar with local and state law enforcement agencies. With offices in three Mississippi locations, our attorneys can quickly respond to an accident anywhere in the state.
