Protecting the interests of insurance carriers and their insureds.
Our insurance practice group – chaired by Guy Harbert – specializes in representing insurers in arson/fraud investigations, complex coverage issues, and the defense of so-called “bad faith” cases, and representation of the carrier’s insureds in the defense of claims brought against them, especially in the field of workers’ compensation.
Insurance Carriers and Insureds. Gentry Locke represents numerous insurance carriers in federal and Virginia state courts in the investigation and defense of fraudulent claims. We help insurers to resist allegations of bad-faith conduct and we represent them in cutting-edge coverage issues. Often, these issues are hotly contested and do not lend themselves to compromise or settlement; they must be litigated. Gentry Locke attorneys have considerable experience in providing comprehensive representation in civil jury and non-jury matters.
Trucking and Transportation. Gentry Locke represents carriers and trucking companies throughout Virginia. We employ a “rapid response” approach to trucking accidents and are available around the clock to investigate an accident, coordinate with experts, and interview witnesses at a moment’s notice. From the time an accident occurs to the conclusion of litigation, our attorneys work diligently to ensure that our clients’ interests are protected.
Workers’ Compensation Claims. Our attorneys are some of the most experienced lawyers practicing in this field. We represent clients from the coal fields of southwest Virginia to the cities of Tidewater and northern Virginia. Our involvement in workers’ compensation cases does not stop at representation of employers and insurance carriers when a claim is filed; we handle complex subrogation and third-party-liability cases stemming from work-related accidents, as well.
We encourage you to review our Insurance Litigation Practice Group attorneys’ personal pages for additional information and then contact us to discuss your company’s legal needs.
