• The merger of Autonomous Technologies Corp. (the developer of a tracker-assisted system for laser eye surgery) into Summit Technology, Inc., in a transaction valued at $224 million.
• The merger of Sawtek Inc. with TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc., in a transaction valued at $1.2 billion. Sawtek designs, develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of electronic signal processing components for use in the wireless communications industry.
