LEADERSHIP IN THE FIRM
Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are included among the Firm's associates and partners. Women or minority partners currently serve as leaders of the Hiring Committee, the Diversity Committee, and of the Municipal Liability and Appellate practice groups. Senior administrative positions held by women include Firm Administrator, Controller, Human Resources Director and Office Services Manager.
INTERNAL PROGRAMS
Firm committees that seek to cultivate a diverse firm culture and to promote the professional and personal success of the Firm's attorneys include the Diversity Committee, the Associate Committee, the Women Fellowship Program and the In-House Mentorship Program.
The purpose of the Diversity Committee in particular is to promote the Firm’s participation in community-based diversity programs and to recommend and implement initiatives to recruit, hire and retain attorneys from diverse backgrounds. Members of the Diversity Committee participate in national legal seminars that focus on assessing and improving firm culture to ensure that the Firm is a supportive place where diverse professionals can succeed in attaining their goals in an environment of personal and professional satisfaction. As part of our on-going commitment to diversity, we continue to seek new methods to increase diversity within the Firm.
We also promote our clients' commitments to diversity by assembling litigation teams that reflect the clients’ diversity requests and requirements.
EXTERNAL PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Through monetary and attorney participation, the firm supports many community-based organizations whose goal is to advance diversity in the legal profession. These organizations include: the NBA Arizona Pipeline Program, the ASU Law School Minority Legal Writing Program, the Arizona Hispanic Bar Association Pipeline Mentorship Program, and the Arizona Women Lawyer's Association. The ASU Law School Minority Writing Program offers minority law students the opportunity to intern with the Firm to advance the students’ legal writing skills.
Jones, Skelton & Hochuli attorneys also participate in State Bar committees that seek to advance diversity in the work place. The Firm is a signatory to the Arizona State Bar's Statement of Goals for Increasing Minority and Women Representation and Retention.
