Real Estate Law

Lewis Thomason has represented both residential and commercial clients in a variety of real estate transactions, including development, franchising and zoning land use. Whether buying or selling, financing or leasing, we have experience in working with clients in the negotiation and preparation of real estate documents, as well as representation at closing. The firm also has represented clients on Housing and Urban Development and Federal Housing Administration matters.

Our clients include shopping center and subdivision developers; buyers and sellers of real estate; commercial and residential landlords; commercial tenants; and title insurance companies, among others. We negotiate and draft sales agreements, leases, deeds and many other kinds of contracts, and, when necessary, go to court to enforce them.

We have a great deal of experience representing title insurance companies and resolving title problems through litigation. We regularly engage in title examinations; title opinions; title insurance; preparation of deeds for the conveyance of real property; real estate financing and secured loans; closings; boundary and survey matters; lien claims; and the related representation of borrowers, developers, banks, credit unions and other commercial lenders.
