MBT understands that a diverse workforce of attorneys and staff greatly enhances our ability to deliver the breadth and innovation in legal counsel that our clients demand. To continue to deliver on our promise of excellence in representation, we must attract, retain and advance a diverse pool of legal talent and encourage the individuality and skill-building of all our personnel.
MBT has established an environment that acknowledges each individual's perspective, values his or her skills and contributions, and consistently promotes respect, personal achievement and stewardship. We are extremely proud of how this environment has enabled our people to develop professionally and build rewarding, long-term careers.
To further identify potential barriers and make positive recommendations for enhanced firm diversity, MBT has created a Diversity Committee, chaired by one of its top Labor and Employment lawyers. The committee is comprised of partners and associates and is charged with regular ongoing assessments of the firm's culture, policies and practices.
MBT also realizes the value of external activities in promoting diversity and regularly partners with outside professional groups and client-supported diversity initiatives. One example, of which we are most proud, has been our involvement as an original signatory and ongoing participant in the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women's "Call to Action."
We further applaud and support the efforts of members of our firm who are leaders of, and active participants in, important organizations such as:
- American Bar Association Committee on Women and Minorities
- Black Women Lawyers Association of Greater Chicago
- Cook County Bar Association
- Indian American Bar Association of Chicago
- Korean American Bar Association
- National Asian Pacific American Bar Association
- National Association of Women Business Owners
- North American South Asian Bar Association
- Women's Bar Association of Illinois
