Litigation
From its inception in the early 1960s, Pryor Cashman has represented major New York metropolitan cemeteries, acting as general counsel and advising on all issues which affect the cemeteries. In addition, the firm acts as counsel to the Cemetery Employer Association, a collective bargaining representative of many New York cemeteries.
Our attorneys address issues under the Cemetery Law, legislative initiatives, family and burial society disputes and a host of legal questions arising under the New York Not-For-Profit Corporation and Religious Corporation statutes. We are also involved in labor-management issues such as grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, pension and welfare fund matters.
Due to their vast knowledge and wealth of experience, our attorneys are often called upon to speak and act as legal experts on panels at meetings of the New York State Association of Cemeteries.
