Family Law

With a highly successful team of family law attorneys, Rubin and Rudman boasts one of the largest Family Law practices in Massachusetts.

Our litigators are respected and well versed in all aspects of family law — from complex divorce cases, child custody and paternity actions, to prenuptial agreements, contempt proceedings, post-divorce modifications and actions between domestic partners. We stay abreast of legal developments and trends in this highly charged area of law.

To help obtain the best possible outcome for clients, we pay particular attention to each client’s long term goals. Our attorneys are reasonable and effective negotiators and often resolve cases successfully without the ordeal and expense of litigating. When settlement isn’t possible, our domestic relations advocates have an excellent track record of success in the Probate and Family Courts and in the Appellate Courts.

Rubin and Rudman’s Family Law team offers decades of experience and success advocating for clients of diverse backgrounds. We are supportive and always mindful of the stress created by changes in a family. In particular, we focus on the welfare of any children involved. We pride ourselves on the depth and breadth of our Family Law experience.

We can assist with:

  • Advice regarding guardians ad litem, parenting coordinators and child therapists
  • Appraisals of high net worth estates and complex business valuations
  • Abuse prevention orders and domestic violence
  • Alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and conciliation

We strive to provide comprehensive legal services to help achieve satisfactory conclusions. After a divorce settlement or when the structure of a family changes, colleagues in our top-tier Trusts and Estate practice group are available to help clients to update their estate plans. Similarly, property transfers can be executed by the firm’s well known Real Estate practice group.
