Tower Group

Shulman Rogers stands as one of a select number of law firms that offers full-service representation for tower owners and tower landlords. The Firm’s expertise stems from a pool of attorneys with experience on all matters relevant to today’s tower industry, including telecommunications, leasing, real estate and zoning. Shulman Rogers represents landlords, tenants, investors, subtenants, management companies and real estate brokers in all aspects of leasing, including structuring the transaction, lease negotiations, build-out and occupancy.

Alan Tilles, Chair of the Firm’s Telecommunications Group, has extensive experience in the radio propagation area of wireless radio regulation. Alan’s representation includes tower owners, tower leaseholders and manufacturers of antennas and antenna systems.

Matthew D. Alegi, Co-Chair of the BAMC Real Property Law Section, provides key support to the Group in a wide range of real estate issues, including easements, titling of real property, insurance, leasing and financing. In addition to assisting tower owners with real estate issues, Matt has helped owners address regulatory compliance issues, including helping guide them through transitions in State and local building codes (for example when new TIA standards are adopted), and the effects those transitions have on tower construction, repair, and colocation in progress.

In the area of leasing and general real estate, Doug Hirsch, Chair of the Firm’s Commercial Leasing Practice Group, brings a crucial element to the group. Doug has extensive experience in land acquisitions, sale and lease-back transactions, construction contracts and financing transactions. For a tower owner represented by competent counsel, leasing or sale of tower assets promises to be a rich source of revenue.

In the area of zoning, Shulman Rogers’ attorneys are intimately familiar with the benefits, practical limitations and procedural nuances of land use and permitting processes of zoning for the wireless communications industry. Our representation of both private and public sector clients includes residential, commercial and industrial developers and builders, institutions, quasi-governmental agencies and municipalities. Our experience brings a rich, well-rounded perspective to all matters that may influence wireless communications business decisions.

We also handle other ancillary documents:

  • Renewal and expansion amendments
  • Subleases and assignments
  • Termination agreements
  • Construction, management and architect agreements related to tenant improvements
  • Reciprocal easement and covenant agreements
  • License agreements
