Estate Planning

Sullivan Ward provides estate planning services to clients in Michigan, Illinois and throughout the Midwest. Many of our attorneys are also Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) who assist with every phase of the estate planning process. We utilize a business mindset that, while emphasizing the tax implications of a plan, also remains sensitive to the particular needs of the family and their objectives.

Our attorneys assist families, individuals, and business executives and managers. Our approach is to thoroughly know and understand our clients in order to design specific, custom plans for them. We take into account their need to preserve wealth for their lifetimes as well as to satisfy their goals for future generations.

We draft simple wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, medical and financial powers of attorney, charitable giving documents, and deferred compensation agreements. We structure private foundations, family partnerships, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Our attorneys also work with clients to develop business succession plans.

Sullivan Ward also handles probate matters and estate and trust administration, with precision, fairness and efficiency.
