Retail Liability Defense

Sullivan Ward advises and represents clients against charges of premises liability. We represent national brands including big box stores, retail chains, department and grocery stores and owners/operators of retail developments and malls as well as businesses operating locally and regionally.

We mount a vigorous response to claims involving slips, trips and falls, falling merchandise, poor lighting resulting in injury or assault, general negligence, security, and a host of others. We prepare all cases for trial; this lends a substantial advantage in mediating or arbitrating on behalf of our clients in settlement negotiations or at trial.

We additionally defend against dram shop liability claims. Our attorneys have substantial experience in liquor licensing and enforcement matters, and one of our partners represented the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for several years. He is also qualified as an expert in state and federal proceedings involving legal matters of the alcoholic beverage industry.
