Taft’s Environmental group provides nationally recognized litigation, counseling and dispute resolution services for our clients related to local, state, regional and federal environmental laws (e.g., CAA, CWA, CERCLA, EPCRA, FIFRA, RCRA, TSCA), as well as emerging issues. The practice spans civil and criminal law, environmental insurance, toxic tort suits, real estate/ Brownfields transactions, sustainability, defense of occupational exposure claims and administrative proceedings. Our relationships with our clients are longstanding, enabling us to anticipate our clients’ needs and to adroitly manage and resolve environmental matters associated with their business, technology, legislative, policy, administrative or litigation matters.

  • Work and life balance.  Taft recognizes that a healthy balance between a professional's work and private life is essential to lasting success, for both the individual and the firm.  Taft offers alternative work-scheduling programs, remote access, flexible hours and countless opportunities for meaningful community involvement both within and outside of Taft.
  • Promotion and leadership.  Taft is proud that 60% of its new partners in the last four years were women.  Diverse professionals  also are involved in firm leadership and actively participate in recruiting and mentoring.
