Appellate Practice

Vandeventer Black’s expertise in appellate matters has been a long-standing aspect of our litigation strength and depth. We are regularly asked to handle cases on appeal before a number of appellate courts and administrative agencies.

In recent years, the we have served as appellate counsel in cases before the intermediate and highest appellate courts of several states, and in appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth and Federal Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Several of our attorneys are admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. We have also handled appeals before the administrative courts, including the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals. In addition, a number of our attorneys are former judicial law clerks, including at the appellate level. Our appellate cases have been assigned directly from new or existing clients, on referral from other law firms, or from liability insurers.
