Litigation

Wadleigh, Starr & Peters has been known for its complex trial work for over 100 years. We specialize in nearly all aspects of litigation, including civil trials, appeals in state and federal courts, arbitration, and mediation. We represent both businesses and individuals in a wide variety of controversies.

Commercial Litigation

We have broad expertise in complex commercial litigation of all kinds, including business dissolutions, contractual disagreements, environmental claims, shareholder suits, partnership disputes, debt collection, equipment lease defaults, and other business controversies.

Construction Litigation

We are skilled in the prosecution and defense of all types of construction claims and represent owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and other construction professionals.

Personal Injury, Professional Negligence, and Civil Rights

We have long been known for our personal injury, professional negligence, product liability and civil rights work. We have obtained favorable results in some of New Hampshire’s most significant cases involving product liability, traumatic injury, failure to diagnose, wrongful death, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, and civil rights claims.

Real Estate and Tax Assessment Litigation

We represent businesses and individuals in cases involving land use issues, including easements and condemnation. We have also been involved in tax sale disputes with local governments, as well as disputes relating to the financing of real estate transactions. Our firm has a substantial practice representing both small and large businesses against municipalities, challenging real estate tax assessments on grounds of improper rates and ratios, and improperly assessed valuations.

Emergency Relief and Injunction Practice

We are available to obtain emergency relief, including attachments, injunctions, and ex parte orders when circumstances require immediate action. We are also available to assist when someone files an emergency relief request against a client.

Moreover, we can handle a wide range of other matters, including employment, real estate, land use, adverse possession, and estate and probate proceedings and disputes.
