Land Use

Willcox Savage helps clients with the full range of land use and development approvals. Our attorneys have strong relationships with planning and zoning staff in the jurisdictions that make up Hampton Roads. Our experience, and those relationships, allow us to process required permits and approvals effectively.

We have assisted in many successful rezoning, conditional use permit, and variance applications. We have solved problems arising with subdivision and site plan approvals. In addition, we have obtained interpretations from zoning officials that allowed development to proceed without obtaining a variance or other land use permit. Early involvement in the development process enables us to perform “due diligence” for zoning in order to shape applications so that the minimum level of regulatory approval is required.
