Banking & Financial Institutions

Wise Carter’s banking and financial institutions practice involves all phases of the law pertaining to commercial banks, bank holding companies, and other financial institutions. We have participated in bank acquisition and merger transactions, and have represented both acquirers and sellers or targets.

In addition to counseling banks in the areas of commercial loan documentation, bankruptcy, and complex loan workout matters, we have handled litigation in state and federal courts, on behalf of banks, involving a variety of commercial and special banking law issues. Wise Carter attorneys have also been actively involved in representing officers and directors of failed banks and thrifts in connection with claims, administrative proceedings and federal court actions brought by FDIC, OTS and RTC.
